Born August 16, 1970, Scott Beguin began drumming at age 8. Early influences include Buddy Rich, Sandy Nelson, Frank Zappa, Ringo Star, Terry Bozzio, Billy Cobham, Bill Bruford, and Neil Peart. Scott began playing professionally at age 15.
Scott attended Hollywood’s Musician’s Institute from 1987 to 1988. During 1990-91, Scott performed and toured with Albuquerque’s Red, White, and Black. Since 1993, Scott has continued to perform with various artists, compose, and diligently practice. In 2006, Scott, bassist KT Tyler, and guitarist Kay-Ta Matsuno formed the band Cactipus, and recorded their first demo CD a week later.Scott has also played gigs with Ramon Bermudez, Eric McFadden Trio, Gluey Brothers, Treadmill, Angry Babies, and Boo Koo. Scott currently plays with DK and the Affordables, Albuquerque and Four Corners Pipes and Drums, Ghost Like This, and continues his work with the Idiot Logic Compound. When not drumming, Scott enjoys martial arts, rock and ice climbing, cycling, and his family.
